[ a good thing he's had some time to get used to phones in reverie.. this one looks a little different, but the functionality is more or less the same. anyway! the feed opens in a small garden, outside of tighnari's cottage, where he's sitting on the freshly tilled earth, beneath his fruit trees. nevermind that blueberries generally grow on bushes not trees WHATEVER this is fable we do what we want. he seems to be enjoying the shade! ]

Ah - hello.

[ tighnari's tall, furry ears flick as he gets comfortable, sitting cross-legged with his tail curled at his side. ]

My name is Tighnari, I'm a botanist trained in plant medicine, so I thought I might as well make people aware of my presence. There's a lot of new and interesting plant life here, so I'd like to please advise you all not to eat anything you're not entirely positive is edible.

In fact, maybe don't eat anything you forage in the wild in general. But if you do, please seek out treatment immediately. Many plants and fungi are fine to consume, but still others can be potentially quite harmful. If you're unsure about anything you find, you're welcome to ask me. And for those of you finding yourselves with new.. appendages, I'm planning to produce many balms and oils that are safe for fur and feathers and scales, and can help you to keep them healthy.

You're trained in plant medicine... I-if it would be okay, could I possibly assist you? My knowledge may not be the greatest, but I would like to be a doctor in the future. So far I only taught myself in secret by reading various books on the subject...

[He talks faster than before. He's pretty excited about this idea, but at the same time he's nervous to ask so he just tries to say everything at once.]

[ tighnari looks thoughtful, rubbing his chin; he certainly doesn't want to let this young man down, and the more that know what they're doing in regards to flora and fungi, the better. ]

All right, I don't see why not. I have another mentee here, Collei, but she's come quite far in her studies, so taking on another apprentice shouldn't be too difficult.

And there's another student of yours here? Do you think that we could study together?

[It sounds like his dreams are coming true.]

You're quite welcome. We can start any time you like.

[ he looks so happy about it! that's the kind of passion tighnari likes to see. ]

And that's not entirely up to me, you'll have to ask her, but I don't see any reason why she wouldn't be amenable. It'd help you both to study together.

Right now is fine by me. I've taken out a few books from the library that would be an excellent place to begin your studies. We can also take a quick hike to familiarize you with some of the local plantlife, if you like.

[ that smile is infectious! ]

But there's no need to thank me, I'm glad to teach anyone who has the desire to learn.

You can call me whatever you like, I don't mind.

[ collei prefers to call him master tighnari, after all, and he has no problems with it, but tighnari is hardly high enough on himself to demand it. still, some people are more comfortable using titles. ]

A hike it is, then. I know a good grove nearby, with many wild herbs and fungi. We can start there. Remember to bring a notebook!

[ he'll send along the address to his cottage, as well! ]
