[ a good thing he's had some time to get used to phones in reverie.. this one looks a little different, but the functionality is more or less the same. anyway! the feed opens in a small garden, outside of tighnari's cottage, where he's sitting on the freshly tilled earth, beneath his fruit trees. nevermind that blueberries generally grow on bushes not trees WHATEVER this is fable we do what we want. he seems to be enjoying the shade! ]

Ah - hello.

[ tighnari's tall, furry ears flick as he gets comfortable, sitting cross-legged with his tail curled at his side. ]

My name is Tighnari, I'm a botanist trained in plant medicine, so I thought I might as well make people aware of my presence. There's a lot of new and interesting plant life here, so I'd like to please advise you all not to eat anything you're not entirely positive is edible.

In fact, maybe don't eat anything you forage in the wild in general. But if you do, please seek out treatment immediately. Many plants and fungi are fine to consume, but still others can be potentially quite harmful. If you're unsure about anything you find, you're welcome to ask me. And for those of you finding yourselves with new.. appendages, I'm planning to produce many balms and oils that are safe for fur and feathers and scales, and can help you to keep them healthy.

Well, about half of red berries are poisonous, so you have a 50/50 chance of having duped yourself.

Were the berries single berries, like a strawberry or valberry, or an aggregate berry, like a plain yellow berry, or raspberry? [ .. ] Here:

That's less promising. Aggregate berries are almost 99% non-toxic, single smooth berries have a higher chance of harming you.

All right, how long ago did you eat them, and have you felt any changes in your health?

[ he's guessing no, since itto didn't even consider that the berries might be toxic until just now, and he certainly appears hale and hearty, but still. he needs to ask! ]

[This isn’t sounding good, to say the least. Agoria berries or whatever they are would definitely have been the better choice.

It’s… been a couple of hours, I think? I didn’t notice anything earlier, but now that you mention it, my palms are kind of sweaty… is that a thing? Feelin’ a little dizzy, too…

Or you could simply be panicking, because you've just found out you've possibly eaten poisonous berries.

Chances are, if you were going to show symptoms, you'd have shown them within 20 minutes or so, so I think you've lucked out this time. Still, I'd like you to message me every 20 minutes or so for the next few hours to check-in. Just to be safe.

[He could, maybe, be overreacting. Maybe. Panicking usually isn't his thing— that's no way for a gang leader to behave— but he'd felt fine until they'd started talking about it.]

A list? Actually, yes, though it's far from complete or comprehensive. I'm in the process of creating a field guide, but until then.. maybe you should just, you know, stick to eating foods that have been safely sourced.

[Heyyy, good news all around! Really, he's grateful. Hopefully, he's learned a lesson this day. Probably not, though.]

I'll try to keep that in mind. Bet that guide is gonna be great when you finish it. Anything I can help with? I've been scoping out the local bugs, don't know if you're planning on including them or sticking to plants, but I bet I find some good stuff!
