It's time for a game of Never Have I Ever!

The rules of Never Have I Ever are simple: Players take turns listing potential experiences they've never had. If someone has done the action in question, they take a shot or a sip (or whatever other consequence you dream up). If no one has done the action in question, the person who posed the query takes a drink. The house drink of the night is Pixie Punch which may or may not cause any of the following effects: Standard drunk behaviour, giggling, flirting, oversharing, clinginess. (Pick your favourites!)

Not a drinker? No problem! There's plenty of juice and snacks to go around if you want to stay sober. The non-alcoholic punch and food, if sprinkled with fairy dust, may cause similar effects listed above (minus the drunk effects, of course.)

This game takes place on the Fable Network! You can reply in-person with action prompts if you imagine everyone is drinking in the same tavern, or reply with text-prompts if your character might be across the room from someone else. Sometimes it's easier to say things through text than it is face-to-face ... (Which could be for better or worse.)

I ... um! ( BLUSH. ) Isn't your first kiss supposed to be special...? ( WOW WAY FOR HER TO IMPLY THAT HE'S NOT SPECIAL jk jk but amber has read one too many fairytales in her time ... )

Of course you're special! ( whoa!! bet he wasn't expecting a genuine compliment here! soft!! ) It's not so much the person, but the context ... just kissing me because I've never been kissed is a little bit sad, you know? But kissing someone because you want to kiss them is a lot more special than that ... right?

[circuitice]

[ he waves off the compliment, or rather, doesn’t respond to it, beyond his smile softening a touch. ]

I think what makes it special is that it’s freely given and received.

But, in that case, wouldn’t it be more meaningful if it were to be with someone you’ve realized on your own that you cared enough to give it to, than if I told you who that person was?

You’ve still got quite a bit of time to worry about being un-kissable, if you want my honest opinion.

( Amber digests his words carefully ... and she has to admit, what he's saying does make sense. She sighs. )

I guess you're right. I'm sorry, Kaeya ... I shouldn't have pestered you to tell me who. I should respect their privacy. ( She seems a little sombre, but it's so easy for these two to dive into playful banter with one another. It's kind of fun in that sense. But she also looks serious when she speaks, now. )

It was wrong of me. I'll get there one day ... I shouldn't rush.

It seems you're actually quite the romantic after all, Miss Amber.

Just because I'm inexperienced doesn't mean I'm not romantic.

Oh no, if anything, I assumed it increased the potential that you were.

Well, no? It's just ...

I'm the only Outrider in my Grandfather's platoon. It's a lot of hard work. It's my whole entire life. Even though I do want to know how it feels to be held and loved and kissed by another, I haven't had the time. ( Sigh! Yuck. Admitting all this makes her take another drink. ) Who knows what this place will have in store for me, since I can't exactly be an Outrider here.

[ he gets a little melancholy, and doesn't quite look at her, looking instead above her head at a window, as he hums in thought. ]

It's easy to be a believer in all the tales of romance, when it's a complete unknown. After all, no one wants to believe that their lives will be full of heartbreak.

But with knowledge, comes cynicism and fear. The exact opposite of what's necessary to be a romantic at heart.

I don't know what you've been through, Kaeya, but I can understand why you might feel the way you do. I know what heartbreak feels like in some forms. I don't lose myself to fantasies, but ... maybe I just hope things will be okay one day. That I'll actually have company, and ...

Maybe ... I'm a lot more lonely than I originally thought.

I'd hate to be that kind of a corrupting influence on our young Outrider.

And at any rate, like you said, there's plenty of opportunity now.

Kaeya ... you can laugh this off as much as you want, but like I said, you can't stop me from caring about you.

( Honestly. )

All that can come later. My friends mean just as much to me as any lover I potentially have in the future.

I would never doubt the sincerity of your feelings, if that is what you're getting at. After all, I watched you save that young girl's life.

[ the melancholy part of him is tucked firmly away now ]

That's right. You did. ( Little Collei. ) I would've done anything to help her.

It wasn't exactly easy to help her situation after all. And I would wager most people wouldn't have even known where to start.

( She softens her voice, and lowers her head. )

She, um ... she was here. But she left.

[ he reaches out to softly pat her head. ]

But you'll get to see her when we go home.

( She nods. Amber is a little surprised by his gesture, but she appreciates the comfort. )

I just hope she's okay.

[circuitice]

She looked like she'd grown quite a bit. I'm sure she will be.

[outride]

( It may be due to her disclosure about how lonely she feels, but Amber can detect a unique kind of vulnerability tonight from her conversation with Kaeya. After receiving a pat on the head from him once already, she feels motivated for just a little bit more comfort than she normally allows herself. )

... Kaeya, ( She glances up at him. ) Could I get a hug?

( Aw. )
