NETWORK SOCIAL #4

network social #4
never have I ever!

It's time for a game of Never Have I Ever!

The rules of Never Have I Ever are simple: Players take turns listing potential experiences they've never had. If someone has done the action in question, they take a shot or a sip (or whatever other consequence you dream up). If no one has done the action in question, the person who posed the query takes a drink. The house drink of the night is Pixie Punch which may or may not cause any of the following effects: Standard drunk behaviour, giggling, flirting, oversharing, clinginess. (Pick your favourites!)

Not a drinker? No problem! There's plenty of juice and snacks to go around if you want to stay sober. The non-alcoholic punch and food, if sprinkled with fairy dust, may cause similar effects listed above (minus the drunk effects, of course.)

This game takes place on the Fable Network! You can reply in-person with action prompts if you imagine everyone is drinking in the same tavern, or reply with text-prompts if your character might be across the room from someone else. Sometimes it's easier to say things through text than it is face-to-face ... (Which could be for better or worse.)

Use the code below to participate!

Flowr is a brand new app on your device! Or is it...? Maybe it's been there the whole time. Either way, it's Fable's socialising app! The default fruit for the app is a strawberry (๐Ÿ“) emoji, but what's stopping you from changing it to the fruit that you grow on your trees instead? ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŠ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ‘

Welcome to Fable's fourth network social! Please read this before participating!

[ That checks out. ]

Oh, that's reasonable. There can be something captivating and engaging about approaching or involving yourself in things you normally shouldn't.

[ Like, let's say, following some kind of dangerous monster or noting a lifeform's characteristics up close for certain purposes. ]

[ Ah, so this one does have an ounce of sense in him. ]

That's right. You could say I have a morbid sense of curiosity. Humans do find the strangest ways to pass the time...

[ Is this a bridge to them getting to know one another? Well, time will tell, but Albedo is already curious by what he can see listed on the profile before him. ]

That they do. At times, it can be rather intriguing, and at some others, dubious. But, even so, I can admit I have had on more than one occasion been drawn into their various activities.

For various other reasons, but those often also start with a sense of curiosity.

[ To which Albedo can confess he has loads of, hah. ]

[ Oh, now this is interesting. Perhaps this man is only a more self-aware human than most, but something about the way he said that makes Wanderer wonder if he's not human himself.

Of course, he sees no reason not to be blunt about it. ]

You mean to say you're not human, either?
alchemicalbirth: (40)

[personal profile] alchemicalbirth 2023-04-26 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
[ Indeed, there are, perhaps certain...tells, amongst other non-humans which can definitely give indications that all is not as it appears to be.

In addition, understanding that this is now his new 'life'โ€”well, with someone asking him straight out a question like that, he can only reply in the affirmative. ]

That's right. I assume you reached that as a possible conclusion because of how I phrased my previous answer, correct?
inceptor: (225)

[personal profile] inceptor 2023-04-26 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
[ Ah, good to know his intuition wasn't lacking. The fact that this man isn't human makes Wanderer far more interested in talking to him than maybe it should, but old habits die hard. ]

Correct. And I'm sure by now you've figured the same goes for me, if my profile didn't give me away.

[ Being hella old, and all. Shooting point blank: ]

So, if you aren't human, then what are you?
alchemicalbirth: (33)

[personal profile] alchemicalbirth 2023-04-28 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Not at all! Meanwhile, Albedo is already wondering various things about the person in front of him. As a fellow non-human, of course. ]

I did, yes.

[ Well, this is their new life and all, so his answer comes easy with someone straight-up asking: ]

A 'synthetic human', to be precise. My Master is the reason I'm alive; created with a method that aren't available to normal humans, to put it simply.

What about you? What are you?
inceptor: (034)

[personal profile] inceptor 2023-04-29 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[ A "synthetic human"...well, now, isn't that interesting? Perhaps he's functionally human, but the act of being created by a master...that he knows all too well. Wanderer leans forward, keen intrigue on his features. ]

If you want the technical explanation, I'm a puppet, created by a god, though she deemed me flawed and tossed me aside soon after my birth.

[ Does he sound bitter? Well, at least he doesn't seem bothered by sharing. ]

I'm no human, even if she put forth every effort to make me pass as one. Isn't that nice?
alchemicalbirth: (22)

[personal profile] alchemicalbirth 2023-04-30 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Look at him as close and as much as you would like, Wanderer. Albedo isn't exactly unused to the idea of being examined, and has been fully content to observe the other in front of him in turn (as if he hasn't been already.)

Regardless, it's fairly interesting to hear him state that in particular. Created by a god, he says, and then discarded? Hearing firsthand, one might assume that's the only true conclusion, but Albedo has to wonder if it's true. Simply musings, though he would never say the one who created him abandoned him. ]

She stated that you were flawed, then, when she discarded you?

[ There is some bitterness he can detect in there... ]

I also do believe it is remarkable. Even if it might be more simpler for a god than most to craft another being and make them resemble a human. But, here you are, with your own thoughts, your own will...I'd say that fact would make you more than a puppet.

[ A huff of a laugh catches in his throat. Where has he heard that before? Others are always so eager to tell him what he is and is not...yet if Albedo is going by the strictest of definitions, he's hardly wrong. ]

Don't you think I realize that? She cut my strings a long time ago.

[ What he doesn't mention his strings were pulled again, by another, some time later - it's neither here nor there for the purposes of this conversation. ]

All that matters is that I'm only supposed to pass for a human. Even if we were both created, we're fundamentally different.
alchemicalbirth: (53)

[personal profile] alchemicalbirth 2023-05-02 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Albedo is, admittedly, curious about the strict details of creation here, though he imagines that is potentially something beyond Wanderer's knowledge. But, his ire against his creator, and lack of close relationship that goes hand in hand seems to also suggest any attempts in venturing towards that line of inquiry likely to be ill-advised at this point in time. ]

Naturally. Those differences are what make us who we are.

Though, seeing as we're both in the same place, and in the same world...there is no harm in conversing. Maybe even finding more commonalities.
inceptor: (085)

[personal profile] inceptor 2023-05-03 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
[ A wise move, Albedo. He understands enough about his own creation, especially after Dottore's experimentation and research on his sealed divinity, but discussion those with anyone, let alone a stranger...

Well, the conversation probably would have ended there. ]

Conversing, maybe. You hold more engaging conversation than most. But what purpose would us finding common ground solve?

[ Not a question he actually needs answered, so much as he intends it to serve as a flag for his resistance to the idea. ]

[personal profile] alchemicalbirth 2023-05-04 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
I have recently discovered that it can be rather fulfilling or worthwhile when you associate with another person who shares similarities that others don't. After all, it can mean that this person may understand your perspective easier than the rest.

[ Albedo speaks, seeing this from more a logical standpoint than not, which is probably why he states it bluntly. The implications are clearโ€”he thinks it would be a good thing if he and Wanderer associated with each other.

Not that it's strictly necessary either. But, making friends and associations can be difficult. Albedo knows it firsthand. ]

[ He does make it sound so very logical...and for a moment, Wanderer is reminded of the Shogun's other vessel, of the rules she followed to a tee, that he had never taken to himself. He'd been too emotional from the moment he was created, but by Albedo's definition, that's another reason why they should associate.

What would Nahida say, if she were still here? --No, that's a dangerous game to play, he knows exactly what she would say. ]

..."Recently discovered", huh? So, what changed your mind?

[ Not a yes or a no, but he's willing to hear more. ]
alchemicalbirth: (52)

[personal profile] alchemicalbirth 2023-05-05 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
[ ...A fair question to be asked his way, he supposes, given the current topic. ]

...

[ Here, Albedo hesitates a bit. Emotional declarations still don't much work for him, so he decides that his usual method of presenting his point will do just fine. Anything more than that would be honestly superfluous. ]

Meeting another person or two that have those 'similarities'. To put it simply. But to elaborate further, in a critical and difficult situation, I realized how valuable that was.
inceptor: (294)

[personal profile] inceptor 2023-05-06 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
[ Well...it's not as though Wanderer doesn't understand where he's coming from. He had connected with others too, in circumstances both ideal and dire, for better and for worse. No...mostly for worse. But those connection still had value, even if they had all wound up causing him pain in the end.

So if he can admit that much...why does he still hesitate? ]

Couldn't go it alone any longer, huh? Well, if you invite in relationships that wind up cause you trouble on, don't say I didn't warn you.

[ Because to put himself in a position where he can get hurt again...feels like self-sabotage to the most extreme degree. ]
alchemicalbirth: (61)

[personal profile] alchemicalbirth 2023-05-07 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
[ 'Couldn't go it alone any longer, huh?' Those words do result in something like a bit of amusement in him. Albedo recalls easily and distinctly those solitary days spent on Dragonspine, and even elsewhere by his lonesome as his ideal way of spending time. He doesn't call himself much of a conversationalist still, but...

He can't help but muse about how certain that those days are behind him.

...For better, or for worse. ]

You'd be correct in assuming so. But, I am fully prepared for whatever consequences or benefits that may transpire from our future interactions.

[ Albedo doesn't find himself fearing too much of the future. And actually, it makes him a little happy. ]

That said, as I already know your name, I believe it would be only right to give you a proper introduction. I am Albedo, Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favoniusโ€”from Mondstadt.
inceptor: (073)

[personal profile] inceptor 2023-05-08 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
[ Ah, another Knight of Favonius, is he? And Albedo...a name that the Fatui had intel on, and whose name he had heard in passing when he'd been on his mission in Mondstadt. Now connecting those dots with what he's learned now, about him being a synthetic human, he's kicking himself for not investigating him further...but his attention had, understandably, be elsewhere.

Honestly, it had hardly ever been on Mondstadt at all, his intentions to seize the Electro Gnosis already set into motion. If he knew then what he did now...but he is quick to smother such threads of thought. ]

Is that so? I met a most peculiar colleague of yours earlier tonight. [ Kaeya... ] Must be nice, having a familiar face around to make you feel more at home.

[ Said with no shortage of bitterness. ]
alchemicalbirth: (62)

[personal profile] alchemicalbirth 2023-05-08 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[ A soft blink as the other seems to mention something about a 'peculiar colleague', which fortunately does somewhat narrow it down. Of all the Knights present, few can be described as peculiar; or perhaps, relatively unique. Eula is one such character, but he hasn't seen her around, so perhaps not her.

That leaves...Kaeya, doesn't it? Presumably. His mannerisms may seem strange and unique at times to others, but well worth interest; indeed, also a welcome familiar face. Thoughts which flicker away as he takes note of the bitterness. ]

Do you mean Sir Kaeya? [ ... ] Yes, you're right in that seeing a familiar face makes the situation feel easier to acclimate to. It's only natural.

Though, I find new meetings can bring about a certain joy as well.
inceptor: (067)

[personal profile] inceptor 2023-05-10 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
[ He'd be alone in that finding, at least in present company. Although...Albedo has been far more interesting to converse with than most people he meets here, so he gets credit for that! Wanderer's attitude about their differences in creation notwithstanding. ]

Of course...meeting new people is just so joyful, isn't it?

[ Especially when those people are...him, but he leaves that bit of self-loathing unspoken.

His gaze finds a corner of the room, distant. ]

But that's the whole point of this game, so I believe we've done our duty.
alchemicalbirth: (14)

[personal profile] alchemicalbirth 2023-05-10 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Speaking of self-loathing, Albedo has a questioning expression across his face, hearing the edge in the question. ]

Yes?

[ He's stumbling a bit, but then his expression turns from questioning to contemplative, a small frown adorning his face when he sees his gaze cast off to the side like that. ]

Well, even so, I will hope we speak again beyond the confines of the game.
inceptor: (130)

[personal profile] inceptor 2023-05-12 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
I won't promise anything.

[ The response comes automatically, before he's even really stopped to think about it, though...he can admit that he owes Albedo a little more than that. Again, he can hear a whisper that sounds a lot like Nahida's in the back of his mind.

Ha...does that make her his conscience? ]

But if we get the chance to...I suppose I can indulge you for awhile.
alchemicalbirth: (71)

[personal profile] alchemicalbirth 2023-05-12 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Albedo understands the reluctance to do much when it comes to socialization; he has more or less been there before. But, he's glad he can convince Wanderer to humor him for awhile.

Surely, neither one of them will regret this? After all, they do so happen to have their similarities. And Albedo has always thought that those unusual and different than the rest should stick together; even now, when he has changed a little since he said something to that effect. Maybe...they can even someday be friends. ]

Excellent. I'll be looking forward to it, then.
