flitter!
Buzz buzz buzz! That's the sound of your network device receiving a social alert. Maybe you've poked around your device a little bit already, or maybe you haven't, but either way - you're about to have the chance to take part in one of Fable's social apps!
The notification chimes directly from Flitter (the fairy version of Twitter!) And this app is exactly what you would expect. Mostly nonsense scattered among hundreds and thousands of Fleets (Tweets) from the mystical creatures of Fable (and beyond!)
Your device pings you to the following post:
While as fun as they are kind, no one can deny that the Fae have a tendency to be quite mischievous. Giving them access to social media only seems to enhance these feelings! Looks like they want the new inhabitants of Fable - or just anyone who receives a magical notification - to post to Flitter with their spiciest take! Do you have certain opinions on how milky a cup of tea should be? Do you think sprinkles on cupcakes are essential or pointless? No matter the opinion, the Fae want to see it and strike up discussion!
Time to grab the popcorn.
Copy and paste the following code into your comment section to make a Flitter post:
Welcome to Fable's first network social! Please read this before participating!
This social post is open to everyone! This means that you do not have to be a member of Fable to participate! You can think of it like a fun TDM, since network socials like this will happen every month within the game.
We ask that non-Fable residents mark that they're not in-game in their subject line, and that Fable residents use the hashtag #fablenewbies in their posts so that the Fae can find them! After all, they wanted to see some exciting conversations brewing within Fable, but outsiders are more than welcome to chime in as well. Feel free to assume that Flitter is just as big of a dumpster fire as real Twitter. The code is only required for a toplevel, but replies can be written in a text font (like courier.)
Lastly, while we love IC banter, please remember to be civil and familiarise yourself with the game rules. Have fun!

at any rate, xingqiu will find tighnari's shop easily enough, as it's right in the center square of fable village, and while the sign is flipped to closed, the door will be unlocked.
inside, the scent is overwhelmingly.. flowery. not because this is normal, but because the wind pixies scattered ground rose petals and calendula virtually everywhere, onto every surface, perfuming the air with their sweet scent. tighnari is currently up on a ladder, sweeping the dust and petals off of the tops of the shelves. when the door opens, he breathes a sigh. ]
There's tea on the counter, if you'd like some.
[ a delicious lemon berry herbal blend! ]
no subject
For now, the only thing he has to cross is the threshold into the shop. Which he does after a quick knock to serve as an announcement of his arrival. After which he will step inside and then made sure the door shuts behind him. Perhaps the store is operating despite the chaos caused earlier by the pixies? Notably, it's the scent that catches his attention first, before he takes a step forward and then his gaze is drawn to all the wears.
Finally, he catches sight of Tighnari, just as the man sighs. ]
Please, you didn't have to go through all the trouble for me. And after all, I've come to assist here.
no subject
[ wiping his brow on his sleeve, tighnari sweeps the last of the petals from the shelf he's working on, and descends the ladder, cleaning his hands on his apron as he approaches. ]
But if you'd rather get started right away..
[ he gestures to a small door behind the counter. behind it come the muffled sounds of things shifting and moving - thankfully, for the moment, not crashing or breaking. ]
no subject
[ A thoughtful look crosses his features. ]
I shouldn't be surprised if it managed to cause so much trouble and yet its capabilities are fascinating, wouldn't you say?
[ However, with a warm cup of tea served and the possibility that perhaps he may be overestimating himself it was best they settle for a moment. He would much rather drink his tea warm as he considers the possibility that if he is unable to handle the pixie it may cause more of a mess while there was tea out for it to spill. ]
no subject
[ granted, tighnari's ears are very sensitive, but still. they'd kicked up a raucous sound while they skitted about the shop. his ears are still ringing.
at any rate, tighnari slips behind the counter and back into a small room, where he puts the kettle on. ]
Fascinating is a word for it. Do you like herbals?
no subject
[ Although he gets a sense that the experience may have been more painful for the shop's owner. He has his sympathies. ]
Please, you're being kind enough. You don't have to consider my preferences, but if you'll insist on knowing, then yes I do like herbals.
no subject
[ if tighnari sees a pixie again, it'll be too soon. too bad he's probably going to see them again pretty soon after all.. anyway, he taps his chin, glancing over the glass jars that hold his loose leaf teas. ]
Nonsense, I don't want to serve you something you won't enjoy. Hmm.. I have a spiced cranberry apple blend that's quite good for a cold day like this.
no subject
That's sensible. Truthfully, I do prefer mild flavors but if you recommend that blend then I will be happy to sample it.
[ Spiced cranberry apple doesn't sound outlandish to him, there is nothing odd in the name, then again, he knows of someone who likes to experiment. ]
no subject
[ he's got like, so many teas bro, it won't be hard to find something you'll like!! xingqiu is far too polite for his own good, tighnari will absolutely bully him into choosing a tea he likes! ]
no subject
Well, I did say I like herbals before... Honestly, as your guest here I won't be picky.
no subject
[ tighnari won't twist his arm into choosing a flavor, he'll only have to hope he can decide on something suitable. perusing his shelves for a few moments, tighnari finally selects a jar - green tea with lemon balm - and begins to prepare. ]
By the way, you can call me Tighnari. It's good to meet you.
no subject
First, allow me to offer my apologies for not introducing myself earlier. My name is Xingqiu and the pleasure is all mine, although it does seem I was quite caught up with the idea of capturing a pixie earlier that this must have slipped my mind. It's a little embarrassing to be sure.
no subject
Nothing to worry about. It's easy to get caught up in conversation and forget the pleasantries. I'm not bothered.
[ he's not a fancypants kind of guy, these things aren't important to tighnari. more important is tending to their tea, which he carefully steeps, before pouring a cup for each of them. ]
Would you like it sweetened?
no subject
Oh. If you don't mind. Either way, I won't fuss over tea.
[ Despite feeling like he already has when he mentioned he preferred something mild. ]
Mr. Tighnari, you give the impression of a man always ready to entertain guests.
no subject
Well, I do have people stopping by my home often, though not usually for tea.
[ two sugar cubes go into xingqiu's tea, and one into his own. tighnari stirs carefully, then at last hands forward his guest's cup. ]
But tea often happens, regardless.
no subject
He takes the teacup in his hands, holding it with great care. He blows softly in hopes to cool the liquid but stops soon after. Maybe he is feeling a little self-conscious now. ]
Do you mean here or?
[ Although he is leaning towards Tighnari meaning he had guests in his true home. ]
no subject
[ he shakes his head, and leans casually back against the counter, warming his hands on his cup. ]
I meant in Gandharva Ville - back home. I'm a Forest Watcher, and I practice herbal medicine, so I have no shortage of visitors on my doorstep at all times of day.
[ he's quite used to it, to entertaining guests in need of assistance, or advice, or any number of things he is responsible for. xingqiu, he thinks, is perhaps not so unused to it either, given his delicate way of speaking and holding himself, but that's simply a guess. ]
no subject
[ And well, even if he didn't entertain he had to at least be present to welcome some guests; his birthday celebrations were certainly more about important connections than his fulfilling any wishes he may have on that special day. He made due, certainly...
At least, he doesn't appear dour despite allowing his thoughts to stray toward less pleasant occasions. If anything the pixie soon provides a distraction by rattling the door of its confines. ]
Perhaps it wants to join us for tea?
no subject
[ tighnari can't imagine that it's particularly happy back there. no doubt it's made a giant mess of his closet, but that's better than making a giant mess of his shop. he'll take his small victories. of course, there's no saying what might happen once this young man goes in for his attempts to capture it, but.. well, that's a problem for future tighnari.
he takes another sip of his tea, and sets it down on the counter. ]
Maybe it should have considered that, before making a wreck of my things.
no subject
Is there anything of importance in there?
no subject
Just a broom closet, thankfully. It'll need cleaning up, but I won't lose anything of particular value.
[ unlike the rest of his shop - he's going to have to work hard to make up for all the stock he's lost today; much gardening to be done.. he's thankful he can rely on his dendro powers to speed things up a little. ]
no subject
[ There is a thoughtful expression on his face, his gaze fixed on the rattling door yet it seems the pixie has made no headways in escaping. Perhaps it wouldn't be too difficult to transfer it to a different prison until they can find a place where they can safely release it? At least, that's what he's hoping. ]
You would think after all the chaos it has managed to cause it would be able to get past a wooden door.
[
What's next? Is water going to be its weakness?]no subject
[ at least in large groups. ]
Are you ready to try your hand?
no subject
[ Once more he finds himself looking towards the door. ]
Well, prolonging it won't change the results. I'll make an attempt to capture it now.
