It's time for a game of Never Have I Ever!

The rules of Never Have I Ever are simple: Players take turns listing potential experiences they've never had. If someone has done the action in question, they take a shot or a sip (or whatever other consequence you dream up). If no one has done the action in question, the person who posed the query takes a drink. The house drink of the night is Pixie Punch which may or may not cause any of the following effects: Standard drunk behaviour, giggling, flirting, oversharing, clinginess. (Pick your favourites!)

Not a drinker? No problem! There's plenty of juice and snacks to go around if you want to stay sober. The non-alcoholic punch and food, if sprinkled with fairy dust, may cause similar effects listed above (minus the drunk effects, of course.)

This game takes place on the Fable Network! You can reply in-person with action prompts if you imagine everyone is drinking in the same tavern, or reply with text-prompts if your character might be across the room from someone else. Sometimes it's easier to say things through text than it is face-to-face ... (Which could be for better or worse.)

Of course I'm interested. This hair doesn't stay beautiful on its own, you know.

But that's for later, after we're done drinking and embarrassing each other. Is it my turn now?

I'll make a note of it. But yes, it would be your turn.

Never have I ever... [She pauses to think.] Skipped class when I was back in school.

[Beat.]

Pfff, who am I kidding I totally did.

[Drink!]

[ he, of course, does NOT drink!! ]

I could impress upon you the importance of a proper education, but the point is very moot by now.

You wouldn't be the first to give me that lecture.

I have a feeling we wouldn't have gotten along as teenagers, huh?

[veardant]

[ a chuckle. ]

Perhaps not, but to be honest, I was far pricklier during my student days than I am now. I was focused on my work far more than socializing.

[indolentaxe]

I was exactly the opposite. I was only there because I had to be, not because I wanted to learn anything.

[veardant]

In that case, yes, I think your assessment is correct. While I still maintain that education is important, living your life the way you choose is more important.

I tried telling my father that and he wasn't having it. [She puts on her best baritone voice.] "Now Hilda, it's very important for you to have leadership training."

The worst part? He was right.

Parents often can be, however infuriating it might be to their children. [ he chuckles. ] That was quite an impression, I can just see him in my mind's eye.

Did you go to school because your family sent you? Or did you choose to go?

[Honest question! She's curious now.]

Oh no, I very much wanted to. I wanted to attend the Akademiya since I was very young, though my parents did also encourage me.

[indolentaxe]

[Nerd.]

I'm not at all surprised.

The Akademiya's not like... a military academy, right? It's a school-school?

[veardant]

No. The Akademiya does have an associated military force, but it is not a military academy. One of its branches could perhaps be involved in weapons development, but that's not quite the same thing.

[ NERD AND PROUD. ]

I think I might have liked that better. The Officer's Academy was all tactics and battlecraft and troop development and blah.

Is there a... dorsha? [She thinks that's the word he used once.] For arts and design and stuff?

[veardant]

[ dorsha, hehe. ]

Darshan? Well.. Kshahrewar would be the closest, I suppose. Many renown architects study in that darshan, including a good friend of mine. As far as the arts go.. they struggle, in Sumeru. The Akademiya tends to frown upon them.

Darshan, yes!

[She's impressed she got even that close, drunk as she is.]

Also nevermind I don't want to go to a school that thinks arts and crafts are stupid. I'm going to go there and start an art school just to spite them.

[veardant]

[ he chuckles. ]

You wouldn't be alone. There are people in Sumeru who practice the arts, and the Akademiya's views on them have lightened in recent times, but you'd be hard pressed nonetheless. Still, I think there is value, there.

In the arts, you mean? Good, because you're not a bonehead.

[veardant]

[ pfft. ]

Well, I wouldn't call myself an artist, not in the.. romantic sense, but it brings people joy, so I see no problem with it.

[indolentaxe]

[Hilda's drunk, don't laugh at her lack of eloquence right now.]

Not everyone has to be an artist. But people who think that beauty has no place in the world are morons.

Hah. I would have loved to hear you say that to Grand Sage Azar's face.
